
Moose Recall Aspenlind from Victoria & Sign Garth Murray to PTO

The Manitoba Moose today announced they have recalled right winger Josh Aspenlind from the Victoria Salmon Kings of the ECHL. The Moose also announced they have signed centre Garth Murray to a professional tryout contract.
Aspenlind, 24, has played in 25 games with the Victoria Salmon Kings this season and collected seven assists and 22 penalty minutes. Last season, Aspenlind appeared in 62 games with the AHL's Lake Erie Monsters collecting seven points (3g, 4a) along with 53 penalty minutes in that span. The Langley, BC native has played in a career 91 AHL games between Binghamton and Lake Erie. In his AHL career, the right winger has accumulated nine points (4g, 5a) along with 92 penalty minutes.
Murray, 28, joins the Moose after playing eight games this season with the ECHL's Victoria Salmon Kings where he's scored three points (2g, 1a) and collected 23 penalty minutes. The Regina, SK native has played 116 NHL games with the New York Rangers, Montreal Canadiens, Florida Panthers, and Phoenix Coyotoes. In the NHL, Murray has scored 10 points (8g, 2a) and recorded 131 penalty minutes. He also has 356 career games in the AHL with the Hartford Wolf Pack, Hamilton Bulldogs, San Antonio Rampage, and Abbotsford Heat where he's scored 109 points (46g, 63a) and recorded 823 penalty minutes. Murray was originally drafted by the New York Rangers in the third round, 79th overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
