Canadiens Recall David Desharnais from Bulldogs

MONTREAL, QC - The Montreal Canadiens announced today that centre David Desharnais has been recalled to the Canadiens from the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Desharnais, 24, has played in 26 games with Hamilton this season registering 30 points (seven goals, 23 assists) and 16 penalty minutes. The native of Quebec City is currently tied for first on the 'Dogs and tied for second in the AHL in points while leading the AHL in assists. The 5-foot-7, 170 pound centre also leads all Bulldogs in plus/minus with a +11 rating. Desharnais played in six games with Montreal last season recording one assist. Desharnais also set a franchise record for most points in a season last year with the 'Dogs when he posted 78 points (27 goals, 51 assists) in 60 games.

The 'Dogs return to Copps Coliseum for a game on Sunday, December 12th at 1:00 p.m. against the Toronto Marlies. The game will be broadcast nationally on CBC. All regular season Hamilton Bulldogs broadcasts on AM 820 CHAM will begin with a pre-game show 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
