
P-Bruins Defeat Falcons 3-2

Springfield, MA - The Providence Bruins defeated the Springfield Falcons 3-2 Saturday evening at the MassMutual Center. The P-Bruins got their goals from Matt Bartkowski, Jeff Penner and Maxime Sauve. Providence is back in action at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Sunday at 4:05 p.m. for Amica Lip Balm Night against the Falcons.
After a scoreless opening period, the Falcons took a 1-0 lead at the 1:01 mark of the second period. Grant Clitsome tallied his fourth goal of the season, while Matt Calvert and Tomas Kubalik recorded the assists. Springfield made it 2-0 at the 8:00 mark, while on the power play. Clitsome netted his second goal of the game and fifth of the season with Chris D'Alvise and Nick Holden picking up the assists. The Falcons led 2-0 going into the second intermission.
Providence pulled within a goal at the 11:07 mark of the third period. Jamie Arniel passed the puck up the boards to Bartkowski at the point, who blasted the puck into the net for his third goal of the season. Fifty-three seconds later the P-Bruins tied the game at two. Bartkowski had the puck at the left point and sent it down the boards to Arniel. He fed the puck towards the front of the net, where Penner put it in for his third goal of the season. Providence took its first lead of the game with 2.1 seconds left in regulation, while on the power play. Penner carried the puck across the blue line and passed it off to Sauve, who snuck the puck into the net just inside the post for his fourth goal of the season. The P-Bruins went on to the 3-2 victory.
Nolan Schaefer stopped 26 of 28 shots for the P-Bruins, while David LeNeveu made 23 saves for the Falcons. The P-Bruins were 1-for-4 on the power play and 3-for-4 on the penalty kill.
Providence is back at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Sunday for Amica Lip Balm Night at 4:05 p.m. against the Falcons.
