
Hayes Gets Called to Cincinnati

BILOXI, Miss., - RHP Drew Hayes was at every Pensacola Blue Wahoos game from Opening Day 2012 until April 26, 2015 when he was promoted to the Louisville Bats. The fan favorite was called up to the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday morning.
Almost making the team out of Spring Training, Hayes left camp with a 0.82 ERA in 11.0 innings with four walks and 15 strikeouts.
Hayes made 193 appearances for the Blue Wahoos with 203.1 innings of work including two starts. He posted an 11-9 record with seven saves while striking out 2015 batters at Blue Wahoos Stadium.
In August of 2014, Hayes turned the corner posting a 1-0 record in nine games with a 1.71 ERA in 15.2 innings pitched. In 2015, he made four appearances, 5.2 innings of scoreless baseball, before being promoted to Louisville.
A fan favorite and active in the community while in Pensacola, Hayes appeared in three games for the Bats this season going 1-0 with a 6.23 ERA.
Hayes will make his big-league debut when he does pitch for Cincinnati to become the 27th former Blue Wahoos player to play in the Majors.
