Portland Winterhawks News Release
Jadon Potter would score two goals and Mark Friesen stopped all 28 shots he faced to lead the Chilliwack Bruins to a 2-0 victory over the Portland Winter Hawks in front of 3,547 at the Prospera Centre in Chilliwack, BC.
Portland drops to 7-16-0-0 on the season while Chilliwack improves to 9-11-2-2.
Potter tipped home a Brandon Manning point shot just over six minutes into the opening period and then slammed home a wrap-around jam shot six minutes into the final minute to provide all the scoring for the Bruins.
Portland would outshoot the Bruins 28-19, but they were unable to get one past Friesen. Kurtis Mucha stopped 17 of 19 shots in the loss for Portland.
On special teams, Portland went 0 for 3 on the power play while killing all five power plays against on the night.
Next up, the Hawks will head to Everett to take on the Everett Silvertips at the Comcast Arena in back to back games, at 7:00 on Wednesday night and then again at 7:30 on Friday night before finishing their seven game in nine night stretch in Seattle against the Thunderbirds on Saturday night.
