CRANBROOK, British Columbia - Carter Hart stopped all 16 shots he faced for his WHL-leading fourth shutout of the season (eighth of his career) and the Everett Silvertips capitalized with a pair of power play goals in a 2-0 victory over the host Kootenay Ice before a crowd of 1,885 at Western Financial Place on Tuesday.

Opening the initial Central Division road trip with a victory for the sixth win in the last seven games, the Silvertips limited threatening scoring chances in front of Hart, who extended his shutout streak to 125:02 and hasn't allowed a goal since the third period of last Friday's home win against Spokane. They registered a season-high 41 shots on goal and blistered the Ice, 41-16 in shots on goal for the fewest shots in a game they've allowed this season.

Dario Winkler broke a six-game goal-scoring drought with a second period goal and added an assist.

The Silvertips outshot Kootenay, 17-8 in the opening period and Ice goaltender Declan Hobbs made his toughest save late in the frame after Tristen Pfeifer was stopped on a four-on-two rush, followed by a scramble at the goal mouth.

Kootenay returned with magnified pressure in the opening minutes but Hart held ground, stopping Jared Legien on a two-on-one. The Silvertips capitalized on a power play goal off the stick of Dario Winkler, stationed at the left circle on a set up by Cole MacDonald.

Hart only had to turn away four shots in the third period and the Silvertips put the game out of reach on Dawson Leedahl's power play goal, finishing at the net on a tucked forehander after Winkler and Laurencelle whipped successive one-touch passes through Kootenay's set-up, then finding Leedahl at the net with 5:07 remaining in regulation.

Kootenay, who entered the game allowing most shots on goal per game, were stabilized by Declan Hobbs' 39 saves.
