Kane County Cougars News Release
GENEVA, IL - The Kane County Cougars, in conjunction with the Oakland A's, have announced that pitcher Mike Hart has been placed on the disabled list with right shoulder and elbow soreness. Hart goes on the disabled list as pitcher Josue Selenis comes off. Selenis, who missed much of May with a right elbow injury, is active and eligible to play in tonight's 7:05 p.m. game against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers at Time Warner Cable Field.
Hart (19th Rd, 2008) has appeared in 17 games out of the Cougars' bullpen this season, second only to Jamie Richmond's 18 appearances. In 24.1 innings of work, Hart is 0-2 with a 2.96 ERA. Selenis, who was selected by the A's in last December's Rule 5 draft, is 4-1 with a 4.15 ERA and had limited opponents to a .193 batting average in nine appearances this season. Selenis last appeared in game action on May 9 in a 7-5 loss at Dayton.
The Cougars (36-24) lead the Midwest League's Western Division by just one game with 10 left to play. The team continues an eight-game road trip this evening in Appleton at 7:05 as Pedro Figueroa (5-2, 3.99) squares off against Cody Scarpetta (1-4, 3.98) for the Rattlers (29-31).
