
Whitecaps Raising Awareness for Prostate Cancer

COMSTOCK PARK, MI -The Whitecaps are celebrating Father's Day a little early this year during their Sunday, June 14 home game against the Fort Wayne TinCaps at 2:00 p.m. As part of their Father's Day festivities, the Whitecaps are doing their part to help raise awareness for prostate cancer.
Fifty cents from every Individual ticket sold for the game will be donated to the American Cancer Society. The Whitecaps will also wear light blue alternate jerseys that will be auctioned off during the game. All of the proceeds from the jersey auction will also be donated to the American Cancer Society.
June 14 is another Bike to the Ballpark day. Fans can meet at Riverside Park at 12:00 p.m. for free hot dogs and an enjoyable bike ride to the ballpark.
Sunday is also a Helen DeVos Children's Hospital Family Day. The first 1,000 kids 12 and under eat free. From 1:15 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. all fans are welcome on the field to get autographs from the team and play catch in the outfield. Following the game, all kids and dads get to run the bases courtesy of Lake Michigan Credit Union.
"This Sunday should be one our best of the year," said Whitecaps Promotions and Multi-Media Manager Brian Oropallo. "Not only do we have our regular family day activities but we also get to raise money for a good cause. When you throw in Whitecaps baseball, you have the makings of a perfect Sunday."
The Whitecaps take on the South Bend Silver Hawks tonight at 7:00 p.m. Individual and group tickets are on sale and can be purchased at the West Michigan Glass Block Ticket Office at Fifth Third Ballpark, by calling the Whitecaps front office at 616-784-4131 or by visiting www.whitecapsbaseball.com.
