Harrisburg Senators News Release
Harrisburg, PA - The Senators open the home portion of their 2009 schedule this Thursday at 7:00pm against the Reading Phillies. The long-awaited home opener promises to be the start of one of the most exciting seasons of baseball on City Island.
In December, the City of Harrisburg and the Senators announced a two-phase $45 renovation project to Metro Bank Park (formerly Commerce Bank Park). The first phase included a new video system, sound system, entrance, outfield seating and boardwalk. Fans this Thursday will have the opportunity to experience the new video and sound system, and see for themselves the on-going work on the new entrance, boardwalk, and seating areas. The Senators anticipate the boardwalk and new seating areas will be ready for its grand opening sometime during the second homestand, beginning the first week in May.
In addition to the construction and upgrades to Metro Bank Park, the Senators are also unveiling their new aggressive promotional schedule beginning Thursday night with the home opener. There is something for every fan during the first homestand.
