Kamloops Blazers News Release
KAMLOOPS, BC - The Kamloops Blazers are pleased to announce today the signing of blueline prospect Tyler Hansen to a WHL Player Contract and Education Agreement.
"We're excited Tyler has committed to the Kamloops Blazers as he looks to build upon his hockey career and solidify his educational goals," says General Manager and Vice President Craig Bonner.
Hansen is a 6'3", 185-pound right-shooting defenseman who is playing with Lethbridge in the Alberta Major Midget League. He was a 3rd round selection of the Blazers in the 2008 WHL Bantam Draft.
"Tyler has shown great improvement since training camp in August and we see good things as he continues his development this season," says Director of Player Personnel Matt Recchi. "He is a strong young defenseman with a right-hand shot, is good in his own end, has very good mobility, and solid offensive abilities."
Hansen has played 23 games at the midget "AAA" level in Lethbridge this season scoring 2 goals and 11 assists to go along with 8 penalty minutes.
