Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the United Hockey League and 2005-06 Central Division, Tarry Cup and Colonial Cup Champions, announce the recipients of the 2006-07 Player Awards.
The awards were presented following the K-Wings home game tonight against the Fort Wayne Komets at Wings Stadium.
The following were the awards and the recipients of the K-Wings Awards Ceremony:
Booster Club Appreciation Award: Nick Toneys
KOHA Plus-Minus Award: Kory Karlander
Otten Trophies Star of the Game Award: Kory Karlander
Keyser Insurance Group Leading Scorer Award: Kory Karlander
Meijer Most Improved Player Award: Mark Versteeg-Lytwyn
Pepsi Sportsmanship Award: Nick Bootland
Kalsee Credit Union Unsung Hero Award: Lucas Drake
Fifth Third Bank Defenseman of the Year Award: Adam Elzinga
Centennial Wireless Rookie of the Year Award: Ryan Nie
WLKM Most Popular Player Award: Tyler Willis
Kalamazoo Gazette MVP Award: Kory Karlander
With the conclusion of the regular season this evening, the K-Wings will next hit the ice on Wednesday, April 11th for a 7 p.m. face-off versus the Flint Generals in Game One of Round One of the 2007 Colonial Cup Playoffs. Tickets are currently available by calling the Wings Stadium Ticket Office at (269) 345-5101, or stopping by during regular business hours of 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday or on Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Fans can also order "E-Tickets" online through www.ticketmaster.com.
