Moline, IL-The Quad City Mallards today announced the results of the team's participation in the 2007 UHL Waiver Draft. Defenseman Andrei Lupandin was acquired from Elmira to begin his third stint in the Quad Cities. The team also added rookie forward Mike Brolsma and first-year defenseman Kristjan Jefkins. In order to make room for the new additions, forwards Jeff Petruic and Travis Granbois and defenseman Mathieu Wathier were left off the Mallards playoff roster. Rookie forward Justin Chwedoruk was placed on the physically unable to perform list.

Lupandin returns to the Mallards after being traded to Elmira on February 27th. Lupandin has appeared in a total of 61 games during the 2006-07 regular season. The native of Kharkiv, Ukraine recorded 30 points on nine goals and 21 assists this year. He played in 14 games with the Jackals and recorded three points on a goal and two assists with the team. In 47 games with the 2006-07 Mallards, he netted eight goals with 19 assists for 27 points. In his eight-year career, Lupandin has 256 points (79 goals and 177 assists) in 509 professional games.

Justin Chwedoruk was placed on the physically unable to perform list and will also miss the 2007 post-season.
