Moose Jaw Warriors News Release

Moose Jaw, SK-Hockey Canada has announced the final cuts at the World Junior Hockey Camp this morning-- helping to finalize the 22 man roster of junior-aged hockey players who will represent their country in the World Junior Hockey Tournament this December.

Warrior Travis Hamonic will be wearing the Team Canada jersey for the Christmas holidays-something he has been hoping for since he began his hockey career. "It's a dream come true and I am so proud to be a part of it. I'm thankful for all the support I have got from the fans in Moose Jaw," said an ecstatic Hamonic.

"The Warriors organization is extremely proud of Travis," said Warriors Director of Hockey Operations, Jeff Truitt. "He is one of Canada's elite defensemen and he has done what every young player dreams of accomplishing," commented Truitt. "We wish Travis and Team Canada all the best in the upcoming tournament," added Truitt.

Hamonic will be joined on the blue line by the likes of Teubert, Ellis and Cowan. Team Canada will showcase some of junior hockey's best scoring talent with Eberle, Hall, Kozun and Schenn putting on the red and white. Canada's national junior team will spend the next few days practicing and doing team-building exercises and their first pre-tournament game is Sunday against Sweden

Canada will play its first game of the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship on Boxing Day, December 26 versus Latvia, a game that will be broadcast LIVE by TSN/RDS and on The FAN Radio Network (check local listings).

Canada has medaled at eleven straight IIHF World Junior Championships including gold medal performances in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009, silver medals in 1999, 2002, 2003 and 2004 and bronze medals in 2000 and 2001.
