Hamilton releases five players

The Hamilton Bulldogs announced today that the club has trimmed their training camp roster by five players. Defencemen Conrad Martin, Pier-Olivier Beaulieu, Frederic St. Denis and Andre Joanisse, as well as forward Daniel Pegoraro were released. Martin will report to the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL, Pegoraro and Beaulieu will report to the Texas Wildcatters (ECHL), St. Denis will return to his junior club, the Drummondville Voltigeurs, in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and Joanisse will attend the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières.

In operation since 1936, the American Hockey League is the top development league for all 30 National Hockey League teams. Over 80 percent of NHL players are AHL graduates, and more than 350 AHL players were recalled to the NHL during the 2005-2006 season alone.

The Bulldogs will open their 2006-2007 season this week on Friday, October 6th versus their North Division rival, the Manitoba Moose.
