
Hagel Signs AHL Contract

Des Moines, IA - Iowa Wild General Manager Jim Mill announced on Friday the American Hockey League club (AHL) has signed forward Marc Hagel to a standard player contract for the 2013-14 season.
Hagel, 26 (09/02/88) has skated in 18 games with the Wild during the 2013-14 season, tallying seven points (4-37). The 5-foot-11, 190-pound native of Ontario, Canada is a plus-3 rating and has registered 19 penalty minutes (PIM). He joined the Wild in December after signing a PTO. He spent the first part of his rookie season with the ECHL's South Carolina Stingrays. In 21 games for South Carolina, he scored nine goals and tallied 17 points. The Hamilton, ON native began his pro career in spring of 2013, signing with the AHL's Lake Erie Monsters. Hagel set up two goals for two points in six games for the Monsters. From 2008-12, he played in 92 ECAC games for Princeton, scoring 17 times and totaling 34 points. He graduated from Princeton in 2012 and used medical redshirt eligibility to play the 2012-13 season at Miami University (OH), scoring six goals and setting up 13 others for 19 points in 42 games. Marc's older brother Kyle Hagel plays for the AHL's Portland Pirates.
Iowa returns home on Friday, Jan. 31 for a 7:05 p.m. game with the Milwaukee Admirals. Friday's against Milwaukee marks Military Appreciation Night, presented by the Marines. The game will feature various in-game elements to honor those who serve our country. The first 2,500 fans to the game receive a Wild camouflage hat, compliments of 92.5 KJJY. The game is also a $2 Beer Night, where fans may purchase $2, ten-ounce domestic drafts through the first period of play, presented by 100.3 The Bus. After the game, fans are invited to bring skates for a Postgame skate opportunity on the Wells Fargo Arena ice.
