Gwinnett Stripers News Release
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The Gwinnett Stripers, Triple-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, are partnering up once again with the Atlanta Gladiators ECHL hockey team. Following the success of "Gwinnett Stripers Night" at the Gladiators' March 17 game, the two teams are joining together for "Atlanta Gladiators Night" at Coolray Field on Saturday, August 18.
The Stripers' 6:05 p.m. game vs. the Buffalo Bisons will include a variety of Gladiators-themed and hockey-themed activities. The highlight of the evening will be the Stripers taking the field in baseball jerseys that imitate the Glads' home uniforms. These specialty jerseys will be worn by all players and coaches during the game.
Fans will have the opportunity to bid on the game-worn jerseys in a silent auction running during the game. All proceeds will go to the P4 Foundation, a Buford, Ga.-based nonprofit organization supported by both the Stripers and Gladiators that works with children and families impacted by childhood cancer.
"With the success of 'Gwinnett Stripers Night' on March 17, we knew we wanted to extend our partnership with the Atlanta Gladiators into the baseball season," said Gwinnett Stripers Vice President and General Manager North Johnson. "The Glads were more than hospitable to us at Infinite Energy Arena, and we are excited to return the favor at Coolray Field. 'Atlanta Gladiators Night' will be another chance to showcase the best of Gwinnett minor league sports, and will also give us the opportunity to support a worthy cause with the P4 Foundation."
"We are very appreciative to the Stripers' organization for hosting an Atlanta Gladiators Night," said Gladiators' Team President Scott Henrichsen. "The Gwinnett sports family is stronger than ever right now, and we are excited to continue to grow it even more on August 18 while helping the great cause of the P4 Foundation."
Tickets for "Atlanta Gladiators Night" are on sale now at the Coolray Field ticket office. Call 678-277-0340 or purchase online at GoStripers.com/tickets.
