
Gustafson Named Goaltender of the Week

GLENS FALLS, NY - The Adirondack Frostbite, in conjunction with the United Hockey League, announced today that Frostbite goaltender Derek Gustafson has been named the Southern Sports Supply UHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending January 29.
Gustafson went 2-0-0 with a 1.00 goals-against average and a .967 save percentage during the Frostbite's two games last week. Friday, he turned aside 21 shots in Adirondack's 3-2 win at Missouri. He followed that up with a 37-save performance, and the team's first shutout of the season, in a 4-0 win at Quad City on Saturday. The shutout was Gustafson's fifth in his Frostbite career.
Gustafson has been in net for each of the games during the Frostbite's current four-game winning streak. Overall this season, Gustafson is 16-4-3 with a 2.74 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage.
This is the second time in Gustafson's career that he has been honored as the UHL's goaltender of the week, also winning the award last season for the week ending January 16, 2005.
The Frostbite are home for two games this weekend, hosting Roanoke on Friday and Danbury on Saturday with both games starting at 7:35 p.m. Tickets are available at the Glens Falls Civic Center Box Office, or by calling (518) 798-0202.
