DANBURY, CT-Following a 6-1 manhandling of the Elmira Jackals, the Danbury Trashers, proud members of the United Hockey League (UHL) will return to a busy grind with four games over six nights this week. Tuesday night's showdown is against Motor City before the Trashers hit the road on Friday and Saturday, followed by a Sunday afternoon match-up with Adirondack in which one lucky fan will win a 42-inch plasma TV courtesy of Best Buy.

DANBURY BOUNCES BACK FROM LOSS TO CRUSH ELMIRA 6-1 January 28, 2006

DANBURY, CT--J.M. Daoust netted the first and last goals of the game as the Danbury Trashers dominated play for 60 minutes before a sold out crowd of 3,005 on Saturday night as the Trashers defeated Elmira 6-1.

Unlike Friday night, the Trashers jumped out to an early lead and kept it for the entire night. Daoust's first goal came just 49 seconds into the opening period, followed by Jeff Daw's seventh of the season from Fred Belanger and David Hymovitz at 11:31.

Drew Omicioli netted his 24th of the season on the power play following a great pass from Dave MacIsaac at 2:06. Alex Goupil followed with his 16th of the year at 5:22 while Danny Stewart scored his 6th of the season at the 14:25 mark before Elmira finally scored at 17:19 on Andy Rozak's first of the year.

Daoust's second of the night was at 6:43 of the final period, assisted by Hymovitz and Daw.

Sly Daigle bounced back from Friday's loss to stop 32 of 33 shots for the win, while Nick Boucher saved only 29 of 35. The Trashers continue to hold a six point lead in the UHL East Division as their record improved to 26-11-7. The Jackals fell to 15-22-5 with the loss.

JACKALS MAKE UP THREE-GOAL DEFICIT TO TOP TRASHERS 5-4 January 27, 2006

DANBURY, CT--First period goals from Danny Stewart, Donny Grover and Troy Smith were far from enough on Friday night as the Elmira Jackals overcame a 3-0 deficit to defeat the Trashers 5-4 before 2,641 at the Danbury Ice Arena.

Following the Trashers opening onslaught, which included power play goals by Grover and Smith, the Jackals scored at the 18:21 mark with Jarrett Konkle's 22nd of the season.

In the second period, Josh Tataryn banked home a rebound at 7:36, followed by Trevor Burgess' 3rd of the season st the 12:43 mark to tie the score at 3-3.

Eddy Lowe scored just 39 seconds into the final period to give Elmira a 4-3 lead, while Chris Chaput scored unassisted on a takeaway in front of the net at 4:57. Eric Lind scored his first as a Trasher at 19:21, but it wasn't enough.

Sly Daigle allowed five goals on 37 shots faced, while Ryan MacIntosh was pulled after the first period by Elmira after surrendering three goals on 10 shots. Nick Boucher earned the win by stopping 18 of 19 over the final two periods.
