
Mallards Draw Three-Millionth Fan

Moline, IL-The Mallards drew their 3 millionth fan on Saturday night. Addie Daly, 9 from Muscatine, was the lucky fan. Addie will receive tickets for the rest of 2005-06 and all of the upcoming 2006-07 season. She will also receive a Mallards prize pack including special gifts from Mallards corporate partners.
On the ice, the Mallards recorded one of the biggest wins of their season on Friday in Muskegon before dropping back-to-back home games to Adirondack and Port Huron. Friday's 5-4 shootout win featured a pair of Chad Woollard goals and a four-point effort (a goal with three assists) from Glenn Detulleo. On Saturday, the Mallards suffered their second shutout loss of the year in a 4-0 defeat to Adirondack. Port Huron beat the Mallards 4-3 on Sunday to end the weekend.
This week, the Mallards host Elmira on Friday and Rockford on Saturday. Friday's game features a team photo giveaway courtesy of Swiss Valley Farms. On Saturday, the game begins at 5 p.m. and will be followed by the annual Genesis Jersey Auction.

The Mallards host Elmira for the only time this year on Friday night at The MARK. Team Photos will be given away to fans that attend courtesy of Swiss Valley Farms. During the first intermission, lucky fans will have the opportunity to participate in the Jumer's Casino Rock Island Card Shot.
Saturday, February 4th vs. the Rockford IceHogs 5:00 p.m. Genesis Jersey Auction Featuring a Race Car Theme
One of the most anticipated nights of every Mallards season is Jersey Auction Night. This year the theme is race cars. The Mallards will be wearing one-time-only themed jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game to benefit Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus. The proceeds will be used towards the purchase of ultrasound equipment for the emergency department that will allow for faster diagnosis of trauma patients. The game will begin at 5:00 p.m. to accommodate the post-game festivities.
Saturday, February 11th vs. the Roanoke Valley Vipers 7:00 p.m. Military Appreciation Night / Carter Yackley Benefit
Military personnel receive special ticket discounts on this night. It's also a benefit for Carter Yackley. The Geneseo youth was born with a life-threatening heart condition and the Mallards are working to raise funds for his medical care. Special Carter benefit tickets are available by calling Meg at (563) 650-0583.
NASCAR Prize Pack Raffle
The Mallards are selling raffle tickets for a NASCAR Prize Pack including airfare, hotel and race passes for two. Tickets are $10 and are available at The Maroon Mortgage Information Table during Mallards home games. All proceeds will benefit Genesis Medical Center.
Salute to Heroes
For the Mallards three early February home games (Feb. 3rd, 4th and 11th), special discounted tickets will be available for all active and retired Military Service Personnel, Firefighters, Police Officers and Arsenal Employees. Lower bowl seats will be available for just $10. Those eligible must contact the Mallards ticket office at (309) 764-7825 to purchase tickets.
Season Ticket Holder Buddy Nights
Mallards "Buddy Nights" return on February 24th vs. Kalamazoo. On these special nights, season ticket holders will receive a voucher for one free upper bowl ticket for every ticket they hold. These seats can be upgraded to lower bowl tickets for just $5. Vouchers can be picked up at the Maroon Mortgage Information Table during home games or at The Mallards Nest.

Friday, February 3rd vs. the Elmira Jackals 7:00 p.m. at The MARK
The Jackals visit the Quad Cities for the only time this year on Friday night. The Mallards swept a two-game set in Elmira in early November. In the teams' first meeting of the year, Quad City overcame a 2-0 first period deficit to win 3-2 on goals by Joel Pullman, Anthony Blummer and Chad Woollard. The following day, the Mallards jumped on top 3-0 before Elmira scored twice to set up a one-goal game heading to the third period. In the third, Woollard recorded his second goal of the weekend. The Jackals did score in the game's final minute to pull to within one, but couldn't net the equalizer.
Saturday, February 4th vs. the Rockford IceHogs 5:00 p.m. at The MARK
The hottest rivalry in the UHL continues as the Mallards host the Hogs for the first time in February. In January, the Mallards went 3-1-0 vs. the Hogs. In the teams' last meeting, the Mallards beat Rockford 3-2 at The MARK on January 15th.

The Maroon Mortgage Pre-Game Show is on the air 25 minutes prior to face-off on Fox Sports Radio AM 1230. During the intermissions, stay tuned for the Swiss Valley Farms Intermission Report. After the game, the All-State Insurance Christy Cox Post-Game Show will air.

Friday, January 27th-Quad City 5 at Muskegon 4-Shootout
In one of the most entertaining games of 2005-06, the Mallards downed Muskegon 5-4 in a shootout on Friday at L.C. Walker Arena. Chad Woollard scored a pair of goals in the victory. With the win, Quad City snapped the Fury's 10-game winning streak. In the first, the teams traded power-play goals as Robin Bouchard scored for the Fury and Matt Radoslovich answered for the Mallards. In the second, Woollard scored in the final minute to give the Mallards a 2-1 lead after 40 minutes. A wild third period featured goals by Woollard and Glenn Detulleo sandwiched around a Ryan Keller goal to set the score at 4-2 entering the late stages of the game. Joe Pomaranski and Robin Bouchard scored late to even the game at four apiece. In the shootout, Detulleo, Woollard, and Anthony Blumer beat Fury netminder Clayton Pool while Jason Tapp denied three of five shooters, including the league's top two scorers.
Saturday, January 28th-Adirondack 4 at Quad City 0
The Mallards were shutout for the second time this year on Saturday at The MARK. Adirondack's Derek Gustafson made 37 saves in earning his first shutout of the year. The Frostbite took a 3-0 lead after one on goals by Hugo Belanger, Dmitri Suur and Greg Koehler. In the second, Blue Bennefeld's ninth goal of the year capped the scoring with the Frostbite leading 4-0.
Sunday, January 29th-Port Huron 4 at Quad City 3
A high-scoring Sunday afternoon affair ended with the Port Huron Flags beating the Mallards 4-3. Port Huron scored 29 seconds into the game and the Mallards staged two comebacks before falling one goal short. Shawn Smith scored 29 seconds into the contest to give the Flags a 1-0 lead. Patrick Nadeau answered with a shorthanded tally in the middle of the period to tie the game at one. The goal was Nadeau's 199th career marker. In the second, Port Huron scored twice to take a 3-1 lead. Scott Horvath and Brett Lutes recorded the markers to give the Flags a two goal lead. The Mallards battled back on a pair of power-play goals in the final four minutes of the second period. J.J. Wrobel and Rafal Martynowski scored to tie the game heading into the final period. Brad Mehalko scored the only goal of the third to snap the Flags' eight-game winless skid.
Player of the Week
Glenn Detulleo is the Mallards nominee for UHL Player of the Week. He had a goal and three assists on Friday in Muskegon. After being held scoreless on Saturday night vs. Adirondack, Detulleo rebounded with an assist on Sunday.
Goalie of the Week
Jason Tapp is the Mallards nominee for UHL Goaltender of the Week. He earned his third consecutive shootout win on Friday night in Muskegon. Saturday night, he stopped 18 shots vs. Adirondack. During Sunday afternoon's game, Tapp made 30 saves.
