Mysticks lose first contest against the Southeastern Division

The Mysticks dropped their first decision to a Southeastern Division foe as the fall to the Greenville Grrrowl 4-1 at the Bi-Lo Center in Greenville.

Greenville opened the scoring with just 21 seconds left in the first period as Jonathan Roy lifted a rebound over Mysticks goaltender Jeff Reynaert. David Kaczowka and Damon Whitten added the assists.

Ryan Stewart gave the Grrrowl a 2-0 lead eight minutes into the second period on the power play as he redirected Jonathan Roy's shot from the point past Reyanert. Sean Venedam also picked up a helper on the tally.

Roger Trudeau capitalized on a defensive breakdown in the Mysticks zone and pushed a wrap-around past Reynaert with 3:47 left in the middle stanza. Trudeau's unassisted goal gave the Grrrowl a 3-0 lead after two periods. Hugues Gervais cut the Grrrowl lead to two as he got the Mysticks on the board at the 6:37 mark of the third period. Ryan Knox began the play as the pushed the puck to John Sadowski in neutral ice. Sadowski fed Gervais for his 29th of the season.

Greenville answered as Steve Rymsha picked up an unassisted goal at the 12:59 mark of the third to give the Grrrowl a 4-1 lead. Mobile was out shot in the third by an 11-6 margin and 34-32 difference overall.

The Mysticks host the Macon Whoopee Friday night at 7:30 p.m. before traveling to Jackson to battle the Bandits on Saturday.
