Kalamazoo, Mich - The Kalamazoo Growlers (9-14) have been defeated by the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (6-17) by a score of 14-11.
The Growlers offense showed promise totaling 13 hits, with three home runs on the night.
Indiana University product Austin Cangelosi was impressive in his campaign, going 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two home runs.
On Western Michigan Night at Homer Stryker Field, Bronco Jared Kujawa shined. He grabbed four RBI's by way of his towering grand slam.
Although the Growlers potent offense was on display, the Growlers pitching staff struggled to keep the Rafters bats at bay, giving up 14 total hits
Growlers starter Ryan Colegate (Ohio Dominican University) was given the loss giving up five runs.
The Growlers continue their homestand tomorrow and look to avenge their close loss against the Rafters at 7:05 p.m.
Thirsty Thursday presented by Miller Lite is Cowboy Monkey Rodeo Night presented by Tishhouse Electric and WWMT (Channel 3) will be filled with family fun entertainment as Tim "Wild Thang" Lepard and his legendary Team Ghost Riders will take over Homer Stryker Field. Also the first 250 fans in attendance aged 21 and up will receive Miller High Life Bottle Openers.
