St. Cloud, Minn. - The Alexandria Blue Anchors lost to the St. Cloud Rox Tuesday night 4-1 at Joe Faber Field. The Anchors are now 4-18 on the season.

The game was scoreless through the first five frames but the Anchors got on board in the top of the sixth. Cam Duzenack singled to start the inning but was erased on a Ben Allen fielder's choice. Allen went to second on a wild pitch and after a strikeout recorded the second out, Ryan Busch doubled off the left-field fence scoring Allen giving the Anchors a 1-0 lead.

In the bottom of the sixth, St. Cloud third baseman Chris Paul walked with one out against Jason Zgardowski. A single by Clay Ardeeser put two runners on for Boo Vazquez who grounded into a fielder's choice to put runners on the corners with two gone. Garret McMullen hit a ground ball to third but an error by Craig Nennig allowed Paul to score and tie the game at one. A bloop single off the bat of Mitchell Kranson brought Vazquez in, giving the Rox a 2-1 lead.

St. Cloud added on in the seventh against reliever Sean Terres. Seth Heck was hit by a pitch with out out and he stole second. Heck moved to third on an Eric Loxtercamp base hit. Loxtercamp stole second putting two in scoring position with Paul up. Terres intentionally walked Paul to load the bases for Aardesser who lifted a sac fly to left scoring Heck increasing the Rox' lead to 3-1.

Another two-out run gave St. Cloud one last insurance run. Charles Galiano homered to left making the score 4-1

Zgardowski (0-4) was the tough-luck loser as he pitched six innings allowing just two unearned runs on five hits and two walks with two strikeouts. Terres finished the night with two innings pitched and two runs allowed on two hits and a walk.

Minnesota Baseball Academy Player of the Game - Jason Zgardowski (RHP) - The Angelo State righty picked up his second quality start of the season and lowered his season ERA to 4.37.
