
Grizzlies take second from Mavericks

The Grizzlies never had a lead Monday night until Todd Oetting drove a ball to deep left field with one out in the bottom of the ninth. The ball was caught, but Tony Coyne walked in from third giving the Grizzlies a 3-2 win over the visiting Mid-Missouri Mavericks.
The Grizzlies are now a franchise-best 17 games over the .500 mark, with a record of 52-36. Mid Missouri drops to 26-61.
The Grizzlies trailed 1-0 before Mike Breyman's pinch hit double brought Jeremiah Bergheger to the plate in the sixth inning. Mid-Missouri went back on top 2-1 in the seventh, but the Grizzlies came right back with a run in the bottom half.
With the game tied at two, Tony Coyne smashed a one-out triple to the centerfield wall. Greg Stevens was intentioanlly walked, before Oetting came to the plate.
Coyne was 3-4. Oetting was 0-4 with the RBI.
Ryan Hamilton (4-1) earned the win in relief. Hamilton threw the final two innings without allowing a hit. He struck out two. Joe Dooley started and went the first seven innings before leaving with the game tied.
The Grizzlies finish out the home season with a 7:05 game against the Mid-Missouri Mavericks Tuesday night at GMC Stadium.
