RiverHawks Win Record Eighth Straight

OZARK, Mo. – The Rockford RiverHawks defeated the Springfield/Ozark Ducks, 14-4 on Monday. The RiverHawks have won eighth consecutive, breaking a team record set in 2003.

The RiverHawks scored six runs in the top of the first inning. Olmo Rosario reached on a single before Rich Austin hit a RBI single. Aaron McEachran then hit a two-run homer. Kiley Vaughn added a two-run double in the inning.

RiverHawks pitcher Joe Barbosa carried a perfect game into the sixth inning before he gave up a single. Barbosa (1-2) got the win for the ‘Hawks. Kevin Crowley got his first save in long relief.

Cody Fisher (7-8) took the loss for Springfield/Ozark.

The series continues Tuesday night at 7:15. The RiverHawks return home to take on the Gateway Grizzlies at 7:05 on Wednesday. Wednesday the ‘Hawks will give away the Master Spas Hot Tub to one lucky fan. Call (815) 964-2255 for tickets.
