Grizzlies Sign David Cornacchia to a PTO

WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH * The Utah Grizzlies announced today that they have signed defenseman David Cornacchia to a professional tryout and that they have re-assigned defenseman Peter Metcalf to the Idaho Steelheads, the Grizzlies primary ECHL affiliate.

Cornacchia, 24, has played in 13 career games with the Grizzlies posting one assist and eight penalty minutes. This season he has played exclusively with the Steelheads recording 16 points (8-8 *16) with 72 penalty minutes.

The Toronto native helped led the Steelheads to the ECHL?s Kelly Cup last season scoring a goal with seven assists in 18 playoff games and during the regular season was named an ECHL All-Star posting nine goals with 34 assists in 60 games.

Metcalf had five points (2-3 *5) in 31 games with the Grizzlies and had previously played in 14 games with Idaho scoring three goals with seven assists.

The Grizzlies host the San Antonio Rampage tonight at the ?E? Center with face-off scheduled for 7:05 PM.
