Today's Game: The San Antonio Rampage (22-28-2-4; 50 pts.) continue their 12-game road trip against the Utah Grizzlies tonight... It is the eighth contest (in the road swing) as Rampage vacate the SBC Center due to the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo... The Rampage enter tonight sitting tied for fifth in the West Division and tied for 12th in the Western Conference... San Antonio is 10-17-1-2 on the road this season having lost their last three games... Currently, the Rampage are 3-4-0-0 on the road trip.
Against Utah Grizzlies: Tonight's game will be the seventh meeting between the Rampage and Utah, and the fourth meeting in East Valley City... The Rampage lost 4-2 in their last contest with Utah on Dec. 22 at the E Center... San Antonio leads the season series 3-2-0-1... The two clubs will meet 10 times this season... BACK IT UP: The Rampage, begin their tenth set of back-to-back games tonight in Utah... San Antonio is currently 11-5-0-2 and is scheduled for 16 total back-to-back sessions for the 2004-05 season. The Rampage went 9-13-2-0 last season in back-to-back contests.
ROAD WARRIORS: The Rampage embarked on a 29-day, 12-game, nine-city, 13,500-mile road trip on Jan. 29 in Cincinnati. The trip, necessitated by the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo's use of the SBC Center, is annual journey through the month of February for both the AHL's Rampage and the NBA's Spurs. In the past two February road trips the Rampage went 7-4-1 in 2002-03 and 4-8-0 in 2003-04, while currently sitting 3-4-0-0 this season.
BACKSTOP SCOTT: Goaltender Travis Scott is currently 2nd in the AHL in saves (1206), trailing Ryan Miller (ROC, 1250) while Kari Lehtonen sits close in 3rd (CHI, 1172).
THE WEST WING: Tonight's contest with Utah will be San Antonio's first West Division game since Jan. 30 (CIN) and the 38th contest played against a West Division opponent this season. The Rampage, who are currently 15-17-2-2 against their division rivals, are slated to play 56 contests against their division foes this season. In addition, San Antonio will face two Atlantic Division opponents (HFD, WOR) totaling four games, one East Division opponent (NOR) for four games and five North Division opponents (EDM, MTB, CLE, ROC, SYR) totaling 16 games. The Rampage, were 21-32-7-0 in 60 games against West Division opponents last season.
