Grizzlies Settle For Shootout Loss In Las Vegas

Las Vegas, Nevada - The Utah Grizzlies (19-19-0-4) settled for one point in a 3-2 shootout loss to Las Vegas Sunday evening at Orleans arena.

The Grizzlies jumped up 2-0 with two goals on their first two shots in the first 8:50 of the game. Justin Bourne (13; assist: Jeff Dwyer) and Tyler Haskins (11; assists: Ryan Kinasewich, Scott Burt) scored for Utah.

Las Vegas chipped away with a goal in the second and a five-on-three power-play goal in the third to tie the game at 2.

The Grizzlies finished regulation by going 4-4 on the penalty-kill in the third period. Mike Mole also stopped a penalty-shot from Marco Peluso late in the game.

In the shootout, the Grizzlies took a 2-0 lead but again was unable to bury Las Vegas and pick up the victory.

Mike Mole stopped 26 of 28 shots in the game.

The Grizzlies complete their three-game road trip Tuesday in Bakersfield. Face-off is scheduled for 8:05 p.m.

Utah returns to the E-Center Thursday, January 31 opening a three-game-in-three-night set with Alaska. All Utah home games start at 7:05 p.m.
