
Wranglers Cap Off Comeback With 3-2 Sudden Death Shootout Win

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers (27-8-7, 61 Points) defeated the Utah Grizzlies (19-19-4, 42 Points) 3-2 in a sudden death shootout in front of 3,765 fans at the Orleans Arena on Sunday night. Defenseman Jason Jozsa scored in the seventh round of the shootout, pushing the Wranglers in front for the win. Forward Adam Cracknell and defenseman Aaron Power each scored in regulation, capping off a two-goal comeback for Las Vegas. After allowing goals on the first two shootout attempts, Las Vegas goalie Daniel Manzato stopped the next five to seal the victory. Manzato made 30 saves in regulation for his 14th victory of the season. Las Vegas will play in Phoenix on Wednesday at 6:11 pm (PST).
Utah jumped out to a 2-0 first period lead with goals by Justin Bourne and Tyler Haskins.
Las Vegas inched back into the game with Adam Cracknell's team-leading 20th goal of the season at 5:35 of the second period. His unassisted goal brought the Wranglers within one goal at 2-1 after two periods of play.
Las Vegas capped off a two-goal comeback with a five-on-three power-play goal by Aaron Power at 4:56 of the third period. The Wranglers worked the puck cross-ice for Power's eighth goal of the season, sending the game to a overtime and then a shootout tied at two.
After Utah scored on the first two shootout attempts, Las Vegas goalie Daniel Manzato stopped the next five shooters. Wranglers Peter Ferraro, Aki Seitsonen and Jason Jozsa all scored in the seven-round shootout.
Las Vegas will then head back on the road for 6:11 pm (PST) face-off in Phoenix. The Wranglers return home on Friday, February 1st at 7:05 pm to host the Fresno Falcons.
