Utah Grizzlies News Release

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies (24-21-2-5) scored three third period goals to battle back from a 1-0 final period deficit and defeat the Victoria Salmon Kings (30-19-4-2) Saturday night at the E-Center before 5,235 fans and nearly 200 dogs for the team's fourth-annual "Pooch on Pond" game.

Utah finished off the weekend series by taking two of three games from Victoria.

The Salmon Kings only goal of the night came on a five-on-three power-play 8:23 into the second period as Matt Siddall gave the Salmon Kings a 1-0 lead. The Grizzlies hung tight and killed two more second period shorthanded situations as Mitch O'Keefe stopped 20 of 21 shots through 40 minutes.

Utah took over with a three-goal third period outshooting Victoria 17-6. The win was Utah's fourth of the year when trailing after two periods. Tony Romano (7) tied the contest 7:08 into the third period on a blast from the circle. Utah took their first lead of the night 11:35 into the final period as James Sixsmith knocked in a lose puck in front of the net on the power-play for his 14th goal of the year. Lance Galbraith, one day shy of his 30th birthday, scored into an empty-net with one second left in regulation to finish with one goal and one assist.

Tension from last night spilled into warm-ups as Galbraith and Kyle Radke jawed with Victoria's Bobby Davey prior to the contest as the two teams met unsupervised at center ice.

Mitch O'Keefe stopped 26 of 27 shots for his 16th win of the year.

Utah continues their five-game home stand Tuesday and Wednesday when they will host the Stockton Thunder. Face-off both evenings is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
