Alaska Aces News Release

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - As they had done the night before, the Alaska Aces scored late in the third period to force overtime, but on Saturday, Josh Prudden tipped home his second goal of the night to give Las Vegas a 4-3 verdict in front of 5,120 at Sullivan Arena.

Judd Blackwater scored a pair of power play goals for the Aces (25-23-5), who remain unbeaten in their last seven home games and are 11-2-2 in Anchorage since Christmas. Meanwhile, the Wranglers won for the first time in eight games at Sullivan Arena and improve to 22-23-6 heading into tomorrow's series finale at 5:05 p.m. Each team has claimed three points of a possible four going into the rubber match, which will be broadcast live on KFQD 750 AM and followed by the fourth and final Fred Meyer postgame "Skate with the Aces" this season.

The first of Blackwater's two goals opened the scoring at 6:56 of the first period, but John Schwarz tied the game less than three minutes later. Blackwater's second goal, his 22nd of the season, came in the final minute of the frame with Alaska enjoying a two-man advantage, as he followed up his own rebound, lifting the puck over the prostrate form of Las Vegas goalie Jimmy Spratt.

The Wranglers deadlocked the contest at 2-2 on a power play goal by Adam Miller with 8:17 left in the second period, and grabbed their first lead when Prudden tucked home a Mick Lawrence centering pass at 6:43 of the third. The Aces had tied Friday's game with 6:29 left in regulation before winning 4-3 in overtime; Saturday, the equalizer came with 5:45 remaining, when Eric Boguniecki rifled a one-timer off the left post and behind Spratt for Alaska's third power play goal of the game. Prudden's winner came at 1:48 of OT, when he re-directed a Schwarz drive past a screened Scott Reid, who finished with 24 saves as compared to Spratt's 36.
