September 9, 2004 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Utah Grizzlies News Release
WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH * The Utah Grizzlies are in search of fans with talents to share at Grizzlies home games for the 2004-05 season. On October 2, 2004 the Grizzlies will hold open auditions for American and Canadian National anthem singers, game night volunteers and any fan with a talent to share. The auditions will begin at 1pm but all interested parties should contact Tom Schimpf at (801) 988-8043 for more information and a tryout time.
All fans with a special talent or hobby to showcase on the ice or in-game this season are invited to audition. The Grizzlies are interested in a wide variety of talents that would entertain the fans and cheer the Grizzlies on to victory. Those that have dreamt of playing an organ or other musical instrument at a sports event, have a stand-up comedy routine, participate in extreme sports or otherwise entertain groups of people should call for a tryout time. Any and all talents will be allowed an audition time.
The Grizzlies are also interested in gathering volunteers to assist with game night promotions. If you have ever wanted to get into the sports and entertainment field this is an amazing opportunity. Duties could include, but not be limited to, a place on the Grizzlies in-game promotions team, work on the ice and in the crowds, finding contestants to participate in intermission activities, helping the Most Valuable Bear, Grizzbee, launch t-shirts, help the Ice Dancers set-up and other intermission activities¯maybe even captain the airship.
Groups and individuals with musical talent are invited to share their musical skills as a National Anthem singer prior to each home game. Those interested are invited to audition and help start each Grizzlies game right with a salute to our country.
For more information regarding any position and to schedule an audition time on October 2nd call Tom Schimpf at (801) 988-8043.
