Cail MacLean comes back to Hershey, Bears also sign Greg Barber

HERSHEY – The HERSHEY BEARS announced today that right wing Cail MacLean and center Greg Barber have signed American Hockey League contracts for the upcoming 2004-05 season. The announcement was made today by BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst.

MacLean returns to HERSHEY where he played in 95 regular season and 11 playoff games for the BEARS from 2001-03. The highlight of his first tour of duty in HERSHEY was scoring the first goal in GIANT Center history on October 19, 2002 against the Rochester Americans. MacLean was also named HERSHEY'S unsung hero for the 2002-03 season. He signed an NHL contract with the New York Islanders before the start of 2003-04 and played in 61 games for the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers last season.

Barber comes to training camp after being named to the ECHL Western Conference All-Star team in 2003-04. He also was named to the ECHL All-Rookie team after scoring 30 goals and notching 76 points for the San Diego Gulls. Barber finished 10th in the ECHL in scoring, and accumulated a 13-game point streak during January and February.

The BEARS open the 2004-05 season on Friday, October 15 at Norfolk before returning home for the club's 67th home opener on Saturday, October 16 at 7:00 p.m. Season and group sales information is available by calling (717) 508-BEAR.
