Fresno Grizzlies News Release
FRESNO, CA - The Fresno Grizzlies will host Christian Fellowship Day, presented by Fresno Pacific University, at Chukchansi Park on Sunday, June 1, 2008. The Grizzlies are scheduled to take on the Tucson Sidewinders beginning at 2:05pm, and a special post-game concert featuring nationally recognized Christian artists will follow the contest.
Following Sunday afternoon's game between the Grizzlies and the Sidewinders, the Triple-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, Chukchansi Park's mobile stage will be moved onto to the playing field to host a concert featuring nationally acclaimed recording artist Todd Agnew, and local sensation Jon Shabaglian.
Tickets, which include admission for the baseball game and the post-game concert, are $10 for Field Level Reserved seats, $12 for Super View seats, and $15 for Field Box seats. A portion of the proceeds from pre-sold tickets will benefit several local Christian youth ministries.
Todd Agnew is a Dove Award nominated Christian music artist that has received national acclaim for songs like "Grace Like Rain", "Glorious Day" and "Our Great God". He has developed a reputation as a powerful performer that tries to challenge those that hear his music through thought-provoking lyrics. His albums include Grace Like Rain, Reflections of Something and his most recent release Better Questions.
In addition to being the worship leader at Word of Faith Community Church in southeast Fresno, Jon Shabaglian is a gifted artist who combines strong musicality with edifying lyrical content. He was honored as Fresno Magazine's Best Local Artist in 2007. Jon has performed throughout Northern and Southern California as the lead singer and keyboardist of the band Return for 3 years. He's recorded a professionally mixed and mastered CD selling a thousand copies and traveled two summers as the lead vocalist and keyboardist for the band Lightstream.
Agnew and Shabaglian will not be the only musical talents at Chukchansi Park on June 1st. Fresno Pacific student Melinda Lira, a top-12 finalist on Season 4 of American Idol, will perform the National Anthem prior to the ballgame.
The Grizzlies wrap up a four-game series with the Tacoma Rainiers on Orange Out Friday, May 30th at Chukchansi Park. On Sunday, fans will have the opportunity to get pre-game autographs on the concourse from selected Grizzlies, and kids can run the bases following the game.
