The Situation

The Grizzlies defeated Las Vegas 5-3 Friday at the Orleans Arena to open the 2009-2010 season 1-0 for the second-straight year.

Kinasewich at 111

With a hat trick Friday to open the season, Utah captain Ryan Kinasewich tied Chris Taylor with 111 career goals in a Grizzlies sweater. Kinasewich is now 21 points away from tying Taylor as the all-time leading scorer in team history with 278 points.

Who Besides Kinasewich?

The Grizzlies had eight total players in the scoring column Friday including: Vlady Nikiforov and AJ Perry who each added two assists.

League Leading Power-play

The Grizzlies 3-7, 43-percent, power-play output on Friday puts them atop of the ECHL after one weekend.

Roll Reversal

After being outscored 6-0 in the third period in the preseason, Utah did not allow a Las Vegas goal in the final 34:25 of the hockey game while putting up four unanswered goals in the 5-3 win Friday. Including 13-3 in the third period, the Grizzlies outshot the Wranglers 22-8 to finish the contest.

My Own Private Idaho

The Grizzlies will play Idaho in their first four home games, after meeting them twice in the preseason. The two teams will meet 16 total times throughout the 2009-2010 regular and preseason.
