The Ontario Reign scored on their first shot of the game, less than a minute into the contest, and never looked back, cruising to an 8-2 win to earn a split of the weekend series. Rookie RW Dan Sexton scored for the second straight game and D Eric Regan notched his first of the season as well, but the Reign rattled off four unanswered goals to pull away.

PLAYER AND TEAM NOTES:

The Condors Opening Night shutout was the third blanking of the opposition on Opening Night in team history. The last was in 2002-03.

Pogge's shutout was also the first by a Condors goaltender since Yutaka Fukufuji in Fresno on March, 2008 and the first shutout on home ice in nearly 1,000 days, dating back to Jan 31, 2007 against Las Vegas (988 days).

D Sasha Pokulok's two-goal performance on Friday was the first multi-goal game of his career and leaves him one short of his single-season best. He scored three goals in his rookie season, which was limited to just 17 games by injury.

C Maxime Macenauer and RW Dan Sexton each scored their first professional goals in their first professional games over the weekend.

G Justin Pogge notched his first shutout since April 2, 2008 against Grand Rapids, when he played for the Toronto Marlies in the American Hockey League.
