Utah Grizzlies News Release

Update

The Grizzlies at 21-20-6-9 are halfway through their season-long eight-game road trip. With just over a month left in the regular season, Utah has 16 games left; 10 of which will be played on the road.

Red Hot On The Road Trip

Rob Hennigar has two two-goal games on the trip to lead the Grizzlies.

Nikiforov Heating Up

Since coming back from Bridgeport, the rookie, has one goal and three assists; including a two-assist performance Sunday in Alaska. Nikiforov was voted an ECHL All-Star but did not play in the game due to his AHL call-up.

Five-On-Five Goals

The Grizzlies have allowed just two five-on-five goals in the last three games. Utah has scored six five-on-five goals during that stretch.

Final Report On February

Despite five AHL call-ups in less than 36 hours to start the month, the shorthanded Grizzlies regrouped to finish their busiest month of the year thus far 6-5-0-3. Utah has now had three-straight winning months and four of five winning months total this year. While also undergoing call-ups, Evan Stoflet (5), Evan Kotsopoulos (2), Tom May (2) and James Brannigan (3) also missed games due to injuries for Utah.

Total Count

The Grizzlies currently have eight players on recall or loan to the American Hockey League.

Plus Players In February

Rob Hennigar and Tim Maxwell finished tied for second in the ECHL with plus-11's during the month of February. Evan Kotsopoulos had a plus-seven in February for the Grizzlies.

Mole Back In Goal

Iron man goaltender Mike Mole has started five of the Grizzlies last six games in net after taking ten-straight games off during Peter Mannino's NHL conditioning assignment. Since returning, Mole has a .917 save percentage and a 3.01 goals-against-average. Utah has allowed just seven goals in their last three games and has allowed two goals or less in four of their last six games.
