The Week That Was...
The South Carolina Stingrays played some key division match-ups this weekend as they look to hold on to 2nd place.
On Tuesday night, the Rays faced the Checkers; 2 vs. 3 in the division. The Rays got out to an early lead, but Charlotte tied it up with less than five minutes to go in the third to force a shoot-out. Trent Campbell, Maxime Lacroix and Travis Morin all scored in the shoot-out to secure the Rays 3-2 victory.
Saturday night was Pink in the Rink Night with all the money raised that night going to the American Cancer Society. The Mississippi Sea Wolves were in town and even though the Rays peppered goalie Ryan Munce with 45 shots, the Sea Wolves got the two points with a 4-3 victory.
Back at home again on Sunday, the Rays faced fourth-place Gwinnett. With the Gladiators up 4-2, the Rays scored four unanswered goals to take the victory 6-4. Jeremy Duchesne, in relief of Jonathan Boutin who received a game misconduct for his fight with Glads goalie Dan Turple, earned the win after stopping all 13 shots he faced in the third period
