Grizzlies Fall 2-1 To Victoria

West Valley City, Utah - The Victoria Salmon Kings handed the Utah Grizzlies their first home loss of the season 2-1 Saturday night at the E-Center.

Utah took a 1-0 lead 4:11 into the first period as Keith Johnson followed his own shot and scored his third goal of the year. Sean Offers and Tyler Haskins picked up assists on the score.

The Grizzlies lead lasted for 3:23 before the Salmon Kings tied it on the power-play at 7:34 of the first on a Ryan Wade power-play goal.

The Salmon Kings got the game-winning goal at 9:04 of the second with Kevin Estrada (one goal, one assist) scoring. Shortly thereafter, Utah had a potential game-tying goal waived off by referee Barry Pochmara much to the chagrin of Grizzlies Head Coach Jason Christie.

The third period was scoreless as Utah went 0-4 on the power-play.

Utah outshot the Salmon Kings 48-21 in the game.

Mike Mole stopped 19 of 21 shots in the game for Utah.

The Grizzlies and Victoria will complete their three-game series Monday at the E-Center Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
