
Cracknell and Wranglers Power Past RoadRunners 6-2

Phoenix, AZ - The Las Vegas Wranglers (6-2-0, 12 points) defeated the Phoenix RoadRunners (5-6-0, 10 points) 6-2 at the U.S. Airways Center on Saturday night. Forward Adam Cracknell scored twice and defenseman Aaron Power dished out three assists as the Wranglers moved into a tie for first place with Stockton in the Pacific Division. The team set a new team record with 28 shots in the third period and tied the team record for most shots in a game with 58. Las Vegas goalie Daniel Manzato made his Las Vegas debut, stopping 23 Phoenix shots for the win. Phoenix goalie Cody Rudkowsky stopped 52 shots in the defeat. Rookie center Justin Donati dished out two assists and center Chris Ferraro also added a goal and an assist as the Wranglers improved to 15-2-2 all-time against Phoenix. Las Vegas will play again in Phoenix on Sunday at 4:00 pm (PST).
The Wranglers jumped out to a 2-0 lead starting with a power-play goal by forward Adam Cracknell at 11:30. Off a face-off, Cracknell rifled a shot from the left-wing circle, beating Phoenix's Cody Rudkowsky and giving Las Vegas a 1-0 lead. The goal marked Cracknell's fifth straight game with a goal. The Wranglers increased their lead to 2-0 as winger Bruce Mulherin scored his sixth goal of the season at 17:46. Center Tyler Mosienko centered to the front of the Phoenix net, finding Mulherin for the score.
In the second period, Phoenix trimmed the Las Vegas lead to 2-1 as Scott Kelman scored his second goal of the season at 5:11. The Wranglers countered later in the period as Chris Ferraro tipped in a rebound at 14:01 of the middle period, giving Las Vegas a two-goal lead at 3-1. Adam Cracknell picked up his second goal of the night and his seventh goal of the season. Cracknell stickhandled his way through traffic and backhanded a shot by Cody Rudkowsky at 17:16 of the period, pushing the Wranglers lead to 4-1. The Wranglers outshot the RoadRunners 17-10 in the middle period.
In the third period, Phoenix charged out of the gates with an early period goal by Ryan Walsh just 54-seconds into the period. Forwards Ryan Donally and Brandon Kaleniecki each added goals in the final period for the final score of 6-2. The Wranglers fired a team record 28 shots in the third period. The previous mark of 24 was set on December 19th, 2005 against the Long Beach Ice Dogs. Las Vegas also tied a team record of 58 shots on goal, set on November 29th, 2005 against the Johnstown Chiefs.
The Wranglers continue on the team's five-game road trip before returning home to host the Phoenix RoadRunners on Tuesday, November 20th at 7:05 pm. Las Vegas will play in Phoenix on Sunday, November 11th at 4:00 pm (PST). The Wranglers then head to Bakersfield for three games with the Condors starting at 10:30 am on Wednesday morning at Rabobank Arena.
