BOISE, Idaho - Mike Sullivan and Taggart Desmet each scored twice and Idaho goaltender Kellen Briggs collected his first pro win with 38 saves in a 7-1 rout of Alaska before 4,621 Saturday at Qwest Arena.

Alaska fell behind 1-0 on a breakdown in defensive zone coverage at 4:37 of the first period, when Desmet found Sullivan wide open in the slot for a one-timer that game Aces starter Derek Gustafson no chance. Alaska came back to tie the game on the power play, as Ryan Glenn registered his first goal in an Aces sweater with a blast from between the circles at 11:58, assisted by Kimbi Daniels and Josh Soares.

Sullivan scored his second goal of the night by pouncing on a loose puck in the midst of a power play for Idaho, flipping a backhander over a prostrate Gustafson at 3:58 of the middle frame. The Steelheads built their lead to 3-1 on another power play when Lance Galbraith's drive from the point caromed off the end boards directly to Greg Rallo, who one-timed the puck upstairs with 7:32 left in the second period.

Alaska had rallied from third period deficits in each of the first two games of this series to pull out 4-3 victories, but despite 17 shots in the final 20 minutes, drew no closer. Lance Galbraith's power play goal gave Idaho some breathing room at 8:07, and when Desmet tucked home his own rebound three minutes later, the game was out of reach at 5-1. Power play goals by Desmet (13:21) and Mark Bomersback (19:00) accounted for the final margin.

The Aces (6-3-1) fly home tomorrow and welcome the Fresno Falcons for a three-game series at Sullivan Arena beginning Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. and continuing Friday and Saturday, November 16-17. Going into tomorrow's game at Stockton, the Falcons are 3-2-2, including a split of two games with the Aces at the Save-Mart Center earlier this season. All regular season games are broadcast live on Alaska's flagship station, AM 750 KFQD, with coverage beginning 15 minutes prior to the opening face-off.
