Utah Grizzlies News Release

Victoria, British Columbia- The Utah Grizzlies scored three straight goals to erase a 1-0 deficit and defeat the Victoria Salmon Kings 3-1 in the final game of a three game series.

For the second time in three games, Utah fell behind early in the first period. K.C. Timmons scored for the Salmon Kings, assisted by Dustan Heintz and Simon Mangos. But the Grizzlies answered back in the period, with just 42 seconds left, as Jeff Miles picked up a turnover and got the puck to Matt Craig, who scored his 14th of the season.

The score stayed deadlocked at 1-1 through the second period. Utah had 10 shots, and Victoria had 9, but Utah's Alfie Michaud and Victoria's David Currie didn't allow any goals, and it remained a tight game going into the final frame.

The Grizzlies took the lead just 1:28 into the third period when Jeff Miles picked up his second assist of the game, on Ryan Kinasewich's fourth goal of the season. Craig added insurance with his second of the game at the 13:20 mark, assisted by Kinasewich and Tom Reimann, to increase the score to 3-1. Michaud made some key saves in the last few minutes to preserve the lead, and gained his 9th win for the Grizzlies, who improved to 13-7-1 on the season. Victoria fell to 7-14-1 with the loss.

The Grizzlies return home on December 10, as they welcome the San Diego Gulls to the E-Center for the first time this year. Game time is 8:05 p.m.
