Ice Pilots Lose 5-1 to Bakersfield

Pensacola, FL - The Ice Pilots had their three game winning streak snapped with a 5-1 loss to the Bakersfield Condors on Sunday at the Pensacola Civic Center.

David Turon scored the only goal of the game for the Ice Pilots at the 6:53 mark of the first period to give the Ice Pilots a 1-0 lead. Bakersfield would tie the game at one on a goal by Andrew Ianiero at the 7:52 mark of the first period.

Joel Irving would score the only goal in the second period to give Bakersfield a 2-1 lead. Alexandre Bolduc would score twice in the third (one shorthanded) and Kevin St. Jacques would also score to give Bakersfield a 5-1 win.

The Ice Pilots had 40 shots on goal, 17 penalty minutes and went 0-6 on the power play. Bakersfield had 38 shots on goal, 23 penalty minutes and went 0-2 on the power play. Matt Carmichael was the losing goalie for the Ice Pilots ! and Ryan Munce picked up the win in goal for Bakersfield.

Carmichael was released from the Ice Pilots roster after the game to join his team Huntsville in the SPHL.

The Ice Pilots dropped their record to 8-9-2 for 18 points and Bakersfield improved their record to 7-7-4 for 18 points.

The Ice Pilots will play at South Carolina on Tuesday night at 6:05 p.m. central time as they begin a three game road trip. The Ice Pilots next home game is Saturday, December 10 vs. Charlotte at a special 8:05 p.m. face-off. The first 1,000 fans will receive Ice Pilots key tags and after the game two Ice Pilots players will sign autographs.
