SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Gulls, who walloped the Johnstown Chiefs 7-1 Saturday night, look to extend their unbeaten streak to five games when the two face off against each other again Sunday at the ipayOne Center.
SERIES HISTORY: This is the third all-time meeting between the Pacific Division Gulls and North Division Chiefs. The two teams met last night and the Gulls cruised to a 7-1 victory. San Diego and Johnstown clashed for the first time last season, with San Diego pulling out a 3-2 shootout victory. Today is the last regular season match-up

VS. AMERICAN CONFERENCE: The Gulls are 10-9-7 (6-5-2 at home) all-time against teams in the American Conference, dating back to 2003-04... The only teams San Diego has yet to face since joining the ECHL are the Augusta Lynx, Columbia Inferno, Greenville Grrrowl, Reading Royals and Toledo Storm...
LAST HEAD-TO-HEAD MEETING (DEC. 3 AT SAN DIEGO): Cody McLeod and Steve Hildenbrand each notched a goal and two assists, as the Gulls pounded the Chiefs 7-1 last night. Guillaume Fournier (two goals), Alex Kim (two goals), Chet Ferreira (two assists) and David Svagrovsky (two assists) also had multipoint games, while netminder Tom Lawson stopped 30 of 31 shots. It was a 1-0 game entering the second period, but San Diego erupted with five goals in the middle frame and cruised from there. The only shot to beat Lawson came via a Gerard Dicaire power-play goal midway through the third period.
GULLS UPDATE: San Diego (8-7-3) enters the day second in the Pacific Division with 19 points, five behind the first-place Fresno Falcons and one ahead of the third-place Long Beach Ice Dogs... The Gulls are three points ahead of the fourth-place Bakersfield Condors... San Diego is unbeaten in its last four games (3-0-1) and 10 of its last 12 overall (7-2-3)... In those 12 games, six have been decided by one goal and four have been decided by two goals... Tonight is the sixth of a season-long seven-game homestand... San Diego is 5-1-2 at home this season (3-1-1 on the homestand)...
OTHER NOTES: Richard Keyes has seven points (2g, 5a) in his last four games... Hildenbrand has 14 points (4g, 10a) in his last eight games... Kim has seven points (4g, 3a) in his first five games with the Gulls... San Diego has killed 53 of its last 57 penalties and has scored 18 power-play goals in the last 12 games... Fournier has scored a point in 10 of the last 12 games... The "French Fries" line of Fournier, Pierre-Luc Sleigher and Martin Mandeville have been held off the scoresheet once in the last 12 games (Nov. 27 vs. Fresno)... The trio has combined for 29 points (13g, 16a) during that span...
JOHNSTOWN UPDATE: Johnstown (5-8-6) starts the day fifth in the North Division with 16 points, nine behind the division lead and one ahead of the last-place Dayton Bombers... The Chiefs are in the midst of a seven-game road trip, six of which are against Pacific Division teams... Johnstown is 2-1-2 so far on the trek that concludes Tuesday in Las Vegas (four of the games have gone into overtime)... Justin Kelly leads the team with 16 points (8g, 8a)... The seven goals allowed last night was a season high...
TRANSACTIONS: Right Winger Dan DaSilva was recalled to the American Hockey League's Lowell Lock Monsters Monday. He had eight points (5g, 3a) in four games last week with San Diego... Defenseman Andy Thompson (wrist) was placed on the seven-day injured list, retroactive to Nov. 26... Defenseman Doug MacIver, recovering from a knee injury, remains out of the lineup... Forward Frantisek Skladany and defenseman Tomas Slovak both remain with Lowell...
