Anchorage, Alaska- The story of special teams continued in the second of a two-game Grizzlies-Aces series, as Alaska used two power play and one shorthanded goal to defeat Utah by a score of 5-1.

The Grizzlies opened up the scoring early in the first period on a Ryan Kinesawich breakaway goal. Jeff Miles and Tom Reimann picked up assists. They held the lead until 10:13, when Ryan Gaucher and Barrett Heisten connected with Olivier Filion on the power play to tie the game.

The score stayed knotted at 1-1 deep into the second period, but with just over five minutes left, the Aces' power play struck again. This time it was Ryan Gaucher with the goal, on a slapshot from the slot. Alaska's Peter Metcalf added a shorthanded goal at the 17:12 mark of the period to increase the Aces' lead to 3-1 going into the second intermission.

Utah goaltender Justin Eddy turned aside several Alaska shots early in the third period, but was unable to stop Louis Mass on an even strength chance, and Alaska jumped to a three-goal lead with four minutes left in regulation. Barrett Heisten added an unassisted goal to his two assists in the game, and rounded out the scoring at 5-1.

Utah continues this 7-game road trip on Friday, December 2, in Victoria. Game time is 8:00 p.m.
