Grizzlies Drop Preseason Opener 3-2 In Park City

Park City, Utah - The Victoria Salmon Kings defeated the Utah Grizzlies 3-2 Friday in preseason ECHL action. Head Coach Jason Christie did not play the following players in the game while observing other talent: Mike Mole, Ryan Kinasewich, Scott Burt, Jeff Dwyer, Jason Pitton, Michael Haley, Eric Nelson, Scott Ford and Brandon Tidball.

Utah never led in the game and trailed 3-2 the entire third period as they outshot the Salmon Kings 13-5 and 32-30 overall in the game.

Travis Rycroft and Islanders prospect Justin Bourne scored goals for Utah. Chris Gaudet, Tyler Haskins and West Valley native D.J. Jelitto picked up assists.

Brett Jaeger stopped 21 of 23 shots in the game before Jordan Neamonitis took over in a 2-1 game.

The Grizzlies will dress the entire team tomorrow when they rematch with the Salmon Kings at the Acord Ice Center in West Valley City at 7:30 p.m.
