"Battle of the Desert" Looms This Weekend

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL will commence their 2007-08 season at 7:05 p.m. tonight with the first of two pre-season games against the Arizona Sun Dogs of the Central Hockey League from the Tim's Toyota Center in Prescott Valley.
The two clubs will meet again at 7:05 p.m. Saturday at the Tim's Toyota Center.
Dubbed as the "Battle of the Desert", the series features Arizona's two professional "AA" hockey teams. The winner of the series will be presented with the first ever "Glass Cactus" following Saturday's game.
Tickets for both pre-season games are on sale now and will be $13 regardless of location in Tim's Toyota Center. Tickets can be purchased by calling 1-866-4-GET-TIX (1-866-443-8849), online at www.gettix.net, or in person at the Tim's Toyota Center Box Office.
The RoadRunners return to US Airways Center at 7:11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19 when they host the Utah Grizzlies to commence their third season in the desert.
