Returning To Stockton
Grizzlies Head Coach/General Manager Tim Branham returns to Stockton for the first time since winning the ECHL's Kelly Cup Championship as the Reading Royals Assistant Coach on May 25, 2013. David Vallorani and Danick Paquette were also Royals last year.
Top 5 In ECHL
The Grizzlies are fourth in the ECHL on the power-play at 21.7-percent and fourth on the penalty-kill at 95.2-percent; having killed 20 of 21 penalties. Utah is third in the ECHL with 35 shots-per-game.
Leading The League
Utah rookie Brent Gwidt leads the ECHL with 25 shots on goal.
Goaltenders
Aaron Dell rejoined the Grizzlies Tuesday after being with Anaheim and Utah's AHL affiliate in Norfolk since opening night after Igor Babkov, under NHL contract with Anaheim, was called up to Norfolk following Friday's game. Dell went 22-11-6 and was named the Central Hockey League's Goaltender of the Year last season in Allen and also led the Americans to the league championship, where he played with current Grizzlies assistant captain Adam Pineault.
Speaking Of.....
Pineault has scored in all four games with Utah, tallying four assists.
Also Scoring Every Game
Berkley Scott has scored in all three games that he has played and has three assists. Scott is tied for the league lead with three power-play assists.
Transactions
Norm Ezekiel and Jamie MacQueen, who still ranks second in the ECHL with six goals in three games, were both called up to the Norfolk Admirals last Thursday.
Next Weekend
The Grizzlies are back home Friday, November 8; Saturday, November 9 and Monday, November 11 for 7 p.m. face-offs with the Ontario Reign in a rematch of last year's first round playoff series.
Friday is Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Night featuring Monique Pineault, the wife of Grizzlies forward and assistant captain Adam Pineault. She joined ABC 4 this week to share her story.
Saturday is "Pooch on the Pond" where fans are encouraged to bring their dogs to the game for a $24 a person with their dog. After Saturday's game is a free post-game skate. Skate rental is $2.
Monday is the first Maverik Monday of the year. Get six tickets for $30 with a receipt from Maverik.
In The Community
The Grizzlies conducted "Hockey Is A Lot Like Life" school assemblies Tuesday and Wednesday at Hunter and Lincoln Elementaries. Friday, the team will be at Hillsdale Elementary and Saturday in Cedar City for "Try Hockey For Free Day."
