Utah Grizzlies News Release

The Grizzlies (0-2-0-1) and the Manchester Monarchs (2-0-0-0) meet tonight for the first of back-to-back games and for the first time this season. Last year, the Grizzlies went 2-0-1-1 against Manchester, the AHL affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings.

The Monarchs are off to a 2-0 start having outscored their opposition 12-5 in those two games. Center Yanick Lehoux has gotten off to a quick start scoring five goals for Manchester. Several new faces highlight the Monarchs line-up including goaltender Mathieu Garon (spent last season with the Montreal Canadiens) and Tom Kostopoulos (20 points with Pittsburgh last season).

The Grizzlies are looking for their first win of the young season and have relied thus far on a majority of their scoring from the blueline. Matthew Spiller leads the team with a pair of goals and Rick Berry and Joe Callahan each have goals for the Grizzlies. Utah has outshot their opponents by an average of 34-29 thus far and will look to keep the pressure up tonight against the Monarchs.

Next Game: The Grizzlies and Monarchs will head west to the Staples Center in Los Angeles for the re-match on Saturday, October 23rd. Face-off is set for 8:35 PM (MT).

***Tonight's game can be heard on ESPN Radio AM 1230 and seen on Altitude Sports and Entertainment on DISH Network and Direct TV.
