HOUSTON, Texas â Houston Aeros center Mikko Koivu underwent an appendectomy Monday night. Koivu, who has one goal in one game with the Aeros, is expected to make a full recovery and will be back in the lineup soon. The 21-year-old Finland native is ranked the Minnesota Wild's No. 1 prospect, according to The Hockey News.
Following a 7 p.m. road tilt today against Chicago, the Aeros return to Toyota Center to play three home games in three nights for the second time in team history. Friday at 7:35 p.m. against Cleveland, Dimitris Rail will be performing pre-game and during intermissions, and characters from the Renaissance Festival will also be at the game. Friday is also Magnetic Schedule Night. Cleveland stays in town for Saturday's game at 7:35 p.m., as Snoopy helps Chilly wow the crowd.
