Michael Chavis' single scored Yoan Moncada from second base in the bottom of the ninth inning, giving the Greenville Drive a 4-3 win over the Lexington Legends Wednesday night.

Greenville won two out of three games in the series.

The Legends scored first when Alfredo Escalera hit his fifth home run of the season in the top of the first inning, but Greenville came back with two in the bottom of the first. Derek Miller drew a leadoff walk and moved to second on a wild pitch by Legends starter Foster Griffin. Mauricio Dubon singled, scoring Miller with the tying run. Dubon then stole second, moved to third on a wild pitch and scored the go-ahead run on a ground out by Cisco Tellez.

The Legends evened the game at 2-2 in the fifth. Corey Toups led off with a double, moved to third on an error by left fielder Mike Meyers, and scored on Carlos Garcia's ground out.

Lexington took the lead in the eighth inning. With one out, Escalera reached on an infield hit, continued to second on a throwing error by Dubon, the second baseman, and came home on a double to left field by Ryan O'Hearn. The Drive tied it at 3-3 in the bottom of the eighth on a single by Miller, a sacrifice by Dubon and a base hit by Ben Moore.

In the bottom of the ninth, Moncada, who signed with the Boston Red Sox for $31.5 million earlier this year, led off with a single. He was sacrificed to second by Javier Guerra before coming home on a single to center field by Chavis.

Carlos Pinales (2-1) got the win in relief. Legends reliever Emilio Ogando (2-2), who relieved Griffin in the fifth inning, was the losing pitcher.

The Legends return home to open a four-game series against Hagerstown. Game time Thursday at Whitaker Bank Ballpark is 7:05 p.m.
